Shinyen

Shin Yen is a Brisbane born and LA/Bay Area raised artist who plays a unique blend of R&B and hip hop. His music draws from the influence of everyone from Frank Ocean and Stevie Wonder to Kendrick Lamar and Lauryn Hill by way of Anderson Paak. After years of playing music for himself, Covid-19 gave Shin Yen time to prioritize and begin really pursuing his dreams. He believes that music should be truthful, vulnerable, and fun. Though his project is only in its nascent phases, Shin Yen has big dreams for the future. He is currently developing ideas for an EP and is excited to play his first shows. Long term he plans to release full length albums, tour the country and build a fanbase with values that he’s proud of. His dreams of crafting music that is about something are only just starting to be realized, but he’s confident they will be achieved.
