Sleeping Flies

Sleeping Flies (Richard Olson, Michael Evill, and Henrik Dahl) are one of several artists making up the Ultra Wide Band collective (other artists in the collective include Biowire and Jivaro). The Swedish trio is also responsible for the Electronic Watusi Boogaloo label, which began releasing records jointly with American label Kindercore in 2000. After contributing to the Kindercore Fifty compilation, the Sleeping Flies released its debut full-length, You Are Superior, which fuses acid house and ambient dub with the vibe of early-'90s Madchester. The album was co-produced by Bill Doss of Olivia Tremor Control, and mixed by Derek Almstead from Of Montreal and Summer Hymns. ~ Kenyon Hopkin
