Slut Magic

Slut Magic

"All those pretty, bi-looking people back there must be the Slut Magic crew." - overheard at Slut Magic show Slut Magic is an angsty, sonic make-out session from Brooklyn, New York. MIT, the World Health Organization, and your mom all agree that Slut Magic has the most attractive fans in the world. Over the last two years, the group—Emma Sky (vocals and violin), Hot Boyfriend (guitar), Shannon Zakarison (drums), and Marc Hall (bass)—has released indie glitter-punk and garage pop on Rock Hand Records and Laruicci Records. Their music fits nicely in playlists with Cherry Glazerr, The Coathangers, and IDLES. Slut Magic unleashes Trauma Queen upon the world on October 30, 2020...a mere week before the apocalypse. This is the second full-length album from the Brooklyn glitter-punk outfit, and this record comes in toxic-green vinyl. While the group still fancies itself DIY, Slut Magic is under a quasi-gag-order from producer Alexander Almgren to “stop using that term—you guys aren’t DIY anymore.” Trauma Queen may be confidently regarded as the catchier, shinier, and hotter sibling of 2018’s In My Mouth. The full release includes all nine songs with accompanying music videos. The title track, “Trauma Queen,” features a video created by Netflix’s High Score animator, Chris Fequiere.
