As
Sontalk, singer/songwriter
Joseph LeMay creates atmospheric indie folk with an experimental soft rock touch in the vein of
the War on Drugs or
Lord Huron. After signing with Sony Records, he made his full-length debut in 2019 with Stay Wild.
Prior to the
Sontalk project,
LeMay spent some time living in New York before heading to Nashville to study production under
Charlie Peacock and begin recording his own music. Under his own name, he released a 2014 full-length called
Seventeen Acres which featured a slightly more rustic mix of Americana and classic '70s singer/songwriter tones. Recasting himself under the
Sontalk banner,
LeMay brokered a deal with Sony and issued the 2018 single "Baby, I'm Gone," which featured a sleeker, more rock-based sound. Stay Wild, his full-length debut as
Sontalk, followed in early 2019. ~ Timothy Monger
