Subcon (Brandon Ingram) is a genre-bending artist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up loyal to the pop punk and metalcore music scenes and playing in several bands, he began producing music of his own in 2018. Through a blend of hip hop-style beat production, catchy melodies, emotional lyrics, and an angsty energy reminiscent of a typical Warped Tour lineup, he connects with his listeners by discussing his own battles with depression, social anxiety, ADHD, along with other struggles that many people share. His artist name comes from the word “subconscious,” which he chose as a representation of his music’s introspective subject matter. His first EP, titled “My Own Archenemy” was released in December 2019, which he created to help him climb out of a long battle with depression, and to help process emotions that had been kept inside for a while. “With a perfect mix of melodies and intense expressive, almost desperate spitted words, the track straps you to the chair, forcing the message on you like you as the listener were the sole reason all these emotions were hidden for so long.” – Florian of KMS Reviews on “Therapy”
