That Ghost

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Schmale (aka That Ghost) began recording his lo-fi Pacific Coast indie rock anthems in his early teens. By 17, the Northern California native had released a string of home-recorded EPs and three full-length albums, all of which employed his signature blend of reverb-drenched vocals and intricate pop arrangements. Schmale landed a record deal at the age of 18 with Brooklyn-based Twosyllable Records, which released the album Young Fridays in 2008. © James Christopher Monger /TiVo
