The Citizen

Forming in 2009, Citizen merge bombastic emo pop, post-hardcore, and thick, chunky indie rock into an original Midwestern blend. With members hailing from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio, the five-piece group quickly hit the ground running upon forming, releasing three 7" singles and an EP titled Young States. Signing to Run for Cover Records, Citizen released their first full-length album, Youth, in the summer of 2013 just before joining that year's Vans Warped Tour. After dropping the single "Silo" in late 2014, Citizen announced the release of their sophomore LP, Everybody Is Going to Heaven, which arrived in June 2015. Working with longtime producer Will Yip, Citizen began to expand their sound with additional instrumentation and great sonic experimentation on their third album, As You Please, which was released in October 2017. © Jason Lymangrover /TiVo
