Up-tempo, guitar-driven alternative rock falls in the Foo Fighters-meet-Gin Blossoms vein. If you were to take the playlist of MTV's 120 Minutes circa 1996, chemically extract the most generic elements of that music, and form a band from the resulting potion, it would sound something like the Discontent.
