The Doughboys

The Doughboys

New Jersey garage rock band

The Doughboys were only together for six months before getting signed to Pipeline Records in 1986. By the time the band released their fourth album, Something's Gone Wrong (1992), the music establishment was embracing the sort of jagged Punk-Pop these Canadians had been doing for the better part of a decade. Hoping to cash in, A&M Records signed the Doughboys and released Crush in 1993. Although the album was brimming with sharp, relentless pop gems -- including the single "Shine," co-written by Mega City Four's Wiz -- the album failed to do much commercially. The Doughboys broke up in 1998, a move that resulted in two bands: Bionic and All Systems Go!
