A supergroup of sorts,
the Rides are a blues-rock group consisting of
Stephen Stills, formerly of
Buffalo Springfield,
Crosby, Stills & Nash (and
Young), and
Manassas;
Barry Goldberg, formerly a member of
Electric Flag, and guitar wiz
Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The trio's first album, Can't Get Enough, was released in the summer of 2013 and was modeled on the 1968 album
Super Session, which both
Stills and
Goldberg played on along with the late guitarist
Mike Bloomfield. Buoyed by the success of their debut album,
Stills,
Goldberg, and
Shepherd returned to the studios to record their follow-up,
Pierced Arrow. The album appeared in May 2016. ~ Steve Leggett
