The
Song Trust was a family-oriented music project led by Nashville-based songwriters
Rory Lee Feek and
Tim Johnson, who co-founded the short-lived label Giantslayer Records in 2004. The pair wrote a Christmas song titled "Bring Him Home Santa" that was released by Giantslayer with Capitol Records in 2007, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Sung by an unnamed young girl and credited to
the Song Trust, it appeared on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in January 2008. A full album of Christmas songs sung by children -- some covers, some originals (including "Bring Him Home Santa") --
Merry Kidsmas appeared in 2009, as did a country album of "songs written for dogs...and their owners" titled
The Dog Singer. The project and the record label soon fizzled as
Feek concentrated on his husband-and-wife country/bluegrass duo,
Joey + Rory. ~ Marcy Donelson
