The Walters

The Walters

Chicago

The Walters are a Chicago-based indie rock outfit with style, sharp hooks, and plenty of pop acumen. Featuring lead vocalist Luke Olson, lead guitarist Walter Kosner, rhythm guitarist/vocalist MJ Tirabassi, bassist Danny Wells, and drummer Charlie Ekhaus, the band emerged in 2014 with the EP Songs for Dads, which included the streaming hits "Fancy Shoes," "Life," and "New Girl (Tom's Song)." Shortly after that, they inked a deal with Canvasback Records and put out the stand-alone singles "Hunk Beach" and "I Want to Be Good." Young Men, the group's first full-length effort, was issued independently in 2015. Following the release of the 2017 single "She's Gonna Leave You," the band went on a mutual hiatus. In 2021, the Walters' 2014 single "I Love You So" went viral on social media, prompting the group to re-form. They signed a major-label deal with Warner Records, and in early 2022 issued the single "Million Little Problems," which appeared on the EP Try Again later that May. ~ James Christopher Monger
