Following the success of the ska-revival movement begun by
the Specials, imitative bands popped up all over Britain; one such band was
the Tigers, who boasted an unlikely rhythm section of blues rocker Pete Dobson (drums, ex-
Juicy Lucy),
Nic Potter, and Guy Evans (bass, both ex-
Van Der Graaf Generator). Formed in London, the remainder of the band featured guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Tony Jacks, guitarist/vocalist Ross McGeeney, and keyboardist Nicholas Cola. Their only LP, Savage Music, was issued by A&M in 1980. ~ Steve Huey
