One of Denmark's longest-running bands,
TV-2 were born from the ashes of '70s rock act Taurus after that band's 1978 album, Whatever Happened to the Sixties. Members
Steffen Brandt (vocals, keyboards, and guitar), Hans Erik Lerchenfeld (guitar),
Georg Olesen (bass), and Sven Gaul (drums) founded
TV-2 in Aarhus in 1980 and quickly recorded the single "Fantastiske Toyota," which soon won them a deal with major label CBS. From there, the band -- whose members would jokingly describe themselves as Denmark's most boring band -- went on to release more than 20 full-lengths starting with 1981's Fantastiske Toyota, including two best-of compilations (1992's Greatest -- De Unge Ar and 2004's Hits) and two live albums (1987's Frim Som Fuglen and 1999's Verdens Lykkeligste Band -- Live 99). In 1999
TV-2 started their own label, Have a Cigar, and in 2007 released the high-selling chart-topper
