Typewriter is an avant-pop solo project of Mark Bandola, a London-based singer/songwriter who was a member of the 1980s college rock band
the Lucy Show. Bandola founded
the Lucy Show in South London in 1982 with fellow Canadian expatriate Rob Vandeven, and the band proceeded to release the albums Undone (1985) and Mania (1987) before breaking up. Among other post-
Lucy Show musical activities, Bandola made his debut as
Typewriter in 2003 with the album
Skeleton Key, which was released independently and garnered critical acclaim. A second
Typewriter album,
Birdsnest, followed in 2006. ~ Jason Birchmeier
