Unnur Sara is a rising pop singer from Iceland. Coming from a musical family her passion and talent for singing emerged early in life. As a teenager she showed unexpected interest in French music from the 60’s mimicking the sounds of French while singing the songs without having learned the language. After being professionally trained as a singer, embarked on a successful career as a singer - songwriter and done many interesting music collaborations Unnur Sara found her way into becoming a pioneer as a regular performer of French music in Iceland. Past years she’s been offering regular concerts with music from France’s legendary singers such as Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel with her great storytelling around the songs. Her critically acclaimed album “Unnur Sara sings Gainsbourg” was released in 2018 and recorded live in an Icelandic church to capture the atmosphere of live performance. She likes mixing together the cultures of Iceland and France with her Icelandic versions of French songs for example “Couleur Café” and “Ces petits riens” which are available on her album. Unnur Sara’s not only a charming singer, she also uses her artistic voice to spread positive energy, both as a journalist for the positive news media in Iceland and blogging about her life in France where she’s recently moved to, looking forward to sharing her music with the world.
