Violet is the dreamy, lo-fi musical persona of Pixie Geldof, the youngest daughter of
Bob Geldof and Paula Yates. Having worked as a model, Geldof sought a new creative outlet and began the project in fall 2010, naming it after the 1994
Hole song.
4 Non Blondes frontwoman turned hitmaking songwriter
Linda Perry helped Geldof refine her skills, resulting in a sound driven by lilting, gentle guitar and hazy, ethereal vocals reminiscent of
Galaxie 500 and
Cowboy Junkies, juxtaposed against despairing lyrics.
Violet's first single, Y.O.U./I Come Undone, arrived May 2012 on the Luv Luv Luv label. ~ Chrysta Cherrie
