WILDE

WILDE is fresh and illustrious. Combining singer/songwriter Giselle Mapp, producers/songwriters Brandon Merenick and Olutobi ‘Nyra’ Akinwumi, WILDE is a musical trifecta from Toronto, ON. Giselle, Brandon and Nyra were pursuing various music projects individually until 2013 when they were introduced through their current manager. Instantly, they all understood why past projects didn't work out: WILDE was nally a space for their visions to align.
“I knew bringing Giselle into the studio with Brandon was going to work because he understood the type of melodies I was trying to surround her vocals with. A few sessions later he brought in Nyra, who he was already working with on the side. I instantly knew Nyra was going to be able to make the music bigger sounding the way I envisioned, by adding in his pop and electro elements.” - Erich ‘Heinz’ Rigonan
WILDE knew there was a rare opportunity to begin as a group and create music they were excited about. The band developed in the home of Brandon’s parents basement, the home of a music school. This allowed him to be closer to his mother who was battling cancer at the time, while keeping him busy and his mind o of her ght until her last breath. Giselle and Nyra showed their support by making their environment a creative one for WILDE to grow together and help turn Brandon’s grief into sound.

This is what makes their rst EP project, Flashlight, a distinct journey of dark and enthralling melodies. It is the haunting samples, warm synths, down-tempo percussion, 808's, with beautiful vocals weaved in-between, that creates WILDE.
