Xarah

She started out playing classical piano -- at age four! -- but the Dominican Republic's Xarah ultimately opted for something a little more mainstream, deciding on pop music as her ticket to a successful future. While her dreams of fame haven't panned out yet, a tour with the Dominican band Carengue put her on that country's radar, and her self-titled 2005 solo debut on Respek Records has given her more stateside fans.
