Yaire composed her first song at the age of eight, soon becoming the youngest artist awarded by ASCAP for "Mujer de Fuego," a song performed by
Olga Tañon. In addition to songwriting for popular local singers, such as
Giselle and
Melina León,
Yaire recorded her debut album, called Formas de Vida, in 1998. That album was followed by 2001's Yaire, produced in Madrid, Spain by
