YMF

YMF was born Rabbani Basnoe in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2000. He grew up in the southeast of Amsterdam in one of the highest crime rated neighborhoods. He was known as a quiet child who was just living his life. As a kid he was a big fan of Michael Jackson and at the age of 9 he discovered hip-hop music.

Already writing his own lyrics, YMF recorded his first song when he was 11 years old. Two years later he also started to make his own beats. He always looked at the work of producers and engineers, that’s how he managed to mix and master his own songs. In 2018 he started to take music seriously and wanted to make a living out of it. When YMF isn’t working in the studio, you can find him on stage. On May 5, 2018 he performed at “Liberation Festival” in Utrecht, Netherlands and in June he did his first international performance at the “European Youth Event” in Strasbourg, France.

YMF has not left the studio, because on August 16, 2018, he released his single “On Lock”. Shortly after the single he released his EP “Leaked” on October 26, 2018. In November 2018 he did a live television performance at Club Hub and a month later he released the first music video from his EP.
