Young Scoe

Artist, Contributor

Black Flight Collective artist Young Scoe picked up a pen at the age of 8 and began producing and recording himself, since then he has evolved after spending an entire summer recording practically non-stop with label mate Blake Rue; totaling over 5000 songs between them. With that being said - Jamglue, the recording platform of choice, was shut down for widespread copyright infringement, which resulted in all of those recordings being lost. But Scoe did not take that as a failure, continuing as a much more seasoned artist into what would ultimately become the record label that he represents today. Scoe continued on; performing for the first time at the age of 12. After playing shows for local crowds and looking to build his team and repertoire, the "Hold Me Back" rapper continues to dig deep into his soul to create from a real place, with real feeling and deep meaning behind the tracks. To date the 25 year old has released twp projects a year dating from 2012 to 2018. The latest release from Young Scoe; (Never Late Music Vol.3: The Anniversary); debuts as an ushering in of a series of projects; playing on the trademark phrase dating back to Scoe's earliest music "I'm never late". This phrase can be translated to speak upon work ethic. The idea that if you work your hardest, give everything you have to your craft, that even if it takes a while; the things you end up creating for the world are always on time. This concept is drilled in through the content of the self-produced project, and even more so via the previous installments of the Never Late Music Series. Young Scoe fans understand that you might not get a mixtape or album every month from him, but when you do get one, you will be able to feel and hear the amount of work and thought that went into it. With deeply rooted cadences, sonically connected to the music, subject matter almost always soul/spirit deep, touching on matters ranging from love and loss to perseverance in the face of hardship; Scoe looks to be one of the premier lyricists of this era.
