In the early 1980’s a Canadian power pop rock trio Zarbo was formed out of players from the two underground Toronto based groups known as Penguin and Lerxt. Headed by bassist / songwriter / lead vocalist Alexander Zarbo (Vella-Zarb), (born in 1961 in St. Thomas Ontario) along with guitarist / vocalist Derek Sharp (born in 1965 in Fort William, Ontario) and drummer / vocalist Greg Anzelc , the power Pop Rock trio played locally at classic music venues like the El Macombo, Branko’s, Cameo Lounge (Hotel Isabella), Larry’s Hideaway, Horseshoe Tavern and many other’s. The ground-breaking album titled 'A-Z Collection', an 8 song LP, was released in 1985 which invoked the music style and vibe of Pop Rock. This led to the dance release of a 45 RPM single “Get Up and Dance” featuring guest keyboardist Jim Burgess (Saved by Technology) which received accolades and moderate airplay on radio stations like CHUM FM and its’ subsidiaries. A-Z Collection by Zarbo (1985) has been completely digitally remastered and single releases of each song are available online. Shortly after the release of the single “Get Up and Dance” the bed tracks of “Fool Man” were recorded and still to 2020 yet remain to be released.
