Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, ZIMUN's mission is to propose evolution and transformation through music. Having at its core the essences of jazz, rap, a little rock, afrobeat and popular Brazilian music, they call their own sound "Street Jazz". ZIMUN's debut album PraFrente was released in 2014 in Brazil and 2015 in Portugal / Europe. After an initial European tour that saw them play Portugal, Italy and other countries, they returned in 2015 for an artist residency at Lisbon's EEA - Espaço Espelho d'Agua, where together with new music director Felipe Vilas Boas and other musical guests like Portugal's NBC, they worked on new material for their sophomore release. In 2016 the band will release a live DVD prior to recording their new album, and are looking forward to returning to Europe to let more people in on the good news: ZIMUN is a band of experimentalists that groove, will get you into their sound and message - the sincerity of urban poetry. Released a new album in 2017 called Sobre o Bom Senso e o Senso Comun, produced by Daniel Santiago (Milton Nascimento, Hamilton de Holanda …) mixed by Rodrigo Sanches, Latino Grammy winner 2016 as sound engineer with the Céu’s album Tropix and mastering was done jointly at Sterling-Sounds studios in New York by Randy Merrill, responsible for works by Lady Gaga, Adele, Beck, Lord and Grimes.
