Jamaica, Queens native Bas started rapping on a lark, with absolutely no intention of making a career out of it. Following a couple mixtapes, an appearance on J. Cole's Born Sinner, and touring as an opener for Cole, Last Winter arrives as his proper debut, released on Cole's Interscope-affiliated Dreamville label. The versatile storyteller shows a good deal of promise, with highlights including "My Nigga Just Made Bail," N.W.O. (New World Order)," "Mook in New Mexico," and "Your World," the last of which features Mack Wilds.
