Voor zijn debuutalbum OutRun (2013) laat de Franse muzikant Kavinsky zich inspireren door videogames, de politieserie Miami Vice en de films van Dario Argento. Op de plaat brengt Kavinsky, die werd geboren als Vincent Belorgey, een crossover van (Franse) house en synthpop. Muzikaal wordt de Fransman vaak in een adem genoemd met zijn landgenoten van Daft Punk en Danger. In Frankrijk haalt OutRun de tweede plek in de albumlijsten en ook in België en Zwitserland doet de plaat het goed.
