Jay Rock's third proper album,
Redemption, is the first to be issued with the support of Interscope, thanks in part to Top Dawg Entertainment's strong ties to the major label via Kendrick Lamar. The follow-up to Rock's Top 20 hit 90059 features Lamar on "Wow Freestyle," an alternate version of the duo's
Black Panther highlight "King's Dead" (featuring Future), and appearances from SZA, Jeremih, and J. Cole. Additionally, there's "The Bloodiest," on which Rock reflects upon a near-fatal motorcycle accident he suffered in 2016. Among the contributing producers are Sounwave, Mike-Will-Made-It, Cardo, and Hit-Boy.
