Aina Haina originally met while the members were attending the University of Hawaii. Guitarist/singer Mike Ailes and drummer Dylan Magierek crossed paths again later down the line while they were playing music in their respective bands in Portland, Oregon. Magierek founded Badman Records, so that label released the band's debut, a self-titled mini-album, in February of 2013. ~ Jason Lymangrover
