Akiine writes minimal pop with choruses weaved around mystic storytelling. Deep like the sea and ethereal and spacey like Neptune. “I feel like magic lives in me. I feel like a little world in a bigger galaxy but with them all inside me like an inner outer space. That's what the expression feels like. Like two forces. Kind of like a supernova glowing and glowing, ready to implode.”
Akiine was born and raised in the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden. At an early age, Akiine found a new home on stage with ballet, a few years later she would be playing instruments, composing instrumentals on the keyboard and writing lyrics to the demos.
Akiine moved to London before releasing her debut EP, Horses On A Beach. In Spring 2019, Akiine will be releasing her third EP titled Red. “It just felt right naming it Red. To me Red means strength, creativity and believing in yourself. I can relate to that as this is my first EP that has been 100% my creative vision, and I stand for it. It’s about creating your own sparks, and feeding your inner imagination.”
