Born in Pakistan in 1970, vocalist Ali Azmat threw himself into music and became lead singer of a band called Jupiter in the late 1980s. It wasn't until the '90s that he would find his greatest success, however, when his voice helped propel the Asian rock band Junoon to international success both on the Asian subcontinent and in Europe. While Junoon is still going strong, Azmat has branched out to do some solo work on the side.
