Israel-based singer/songwriter
Anat Damon issued a commendable debut album,
Falling, in 2003 that mixed probing psychological lyrics with decent melodies and inventive production that drew in orchestration with vague echoes of the psychedelic era. Surprisingly,
Damon did not start playing guitar and writing songs until she was almost 30, working before that as a freelance research consultant after gaining degrees in psychology and statistics. Though she recorded demos as early as 1996, it wasn't until 2003 that
Falling appeared, though she did work in the music field prior to that on the business side, managing the Israeli neo-psychedelic band
Rockfour for a while. ~ Richie Unterberger
