Best known as the vocalist for the Swedish electronic pop group
Miike Snow,
Andrew Wyatt makes other music as well. Along with producing, writing songs for
Carl Barât and
Mark Ronson, and engaging in some artier endeavors (like sound installations for galleries and helping compose the music for a ballet titled Carbon Life), he struck gold when he co-wrote
Bruno Mars' "Grenade," which climbed the charts to number one and earned a Song of the Year Grammy nomination. Attempting a more expansive, experimental sound for his debut solo outing, 2013's
Descender,
Wyatt enlisted the help of guest indie musicians from
the Libertines,
Tortoise, and
Interpol, as well as a a 75-piece orchestra to contribute to the album. ~ Jason Lymangrover
