Billie Black just released her third EP "This Simple Pleasure" via her own label BBLK Recordings. The EP sees Billie exploring a more alternative electronic sound with production from Soundcloud wunderkinds Mura Masa, Sam Gellaitry and Salute. Sharing a manager with Mura Masa she found herself introduced to Soulection, HW&W, Moving Castle and the other collectives making new sounds from the bones of Trap Music. Perseverance in contacting her three favorite producers from that world paid off and she sees this EP as the start of a journey to an album in 2016. With no one involved in the EP out of their teens it's no surprise that song subjects include carefree hedonism and the thrill of new love but Billie, as with her first two EPs, avoids the usual cliches and looks for a balance between honesty and modesty. She says "My aim is to make people think about what I'm saying rather than read what I'm saying. The songs I listen to again and again are the ones where the gaps aren't filled in. That's what draws me to Sam, Salute and Mura Masa's songs. They feel just out of reach"
