The Black Lilys are not just an encounter, they are an evidence. Much more than just a duo, it’s two siblings that experienced in live already much more than young people their age. But no matter of the difficulties of life, they spread their joy of living.
Inspired by the Nu-Soul of the 90ties (Lauryn Hil and others), Camy Lily begins to accompany her voice with the guitar. Soon later followed by her brother Roby, who himself is inspired by the folk universe like Bon Iver or also by the Garage Rock from The Kills.
That’s how the universe of the Black Lilys is born. A mixture of a fresh, almost torn voice, aspirated Soul, and airy melodies, fortified by a minimalist instrumentation, dark, saturated and percussive, swarmed with organic sounds.
