Nurtured on the jazz sounds of artists such as
Miles Davis and
Herbie Hancock as well as the burgeoning mid-'80s house scene in his hometown of Chicago,
Brian Harden was well primed for a career as a musician. Despite his lack of formal musicianship, he began producing jazz-influenced house in the early '90s for recognized Chicago labels such as Dancemania and Relief. By the end of the decade, his music received substantial praise after he released a series of EPs titled The Nubirth Project on
Mike Grant's Detroit-based house label, Moods & Grooves. ~ Jason Birchmeier
