Chris Malachi is an artiste on a mission to impact the hearts and minds of people with his potent lyrics and soul stirring vocal delivery, combined with eclectic, genre-bending sounds, grounded in his own Jamaican culture. Malachi, a name which means "one who is charged with a message", encapsulates how much he believes in the power of good and honest music. Given the name Christopher Morris, he was born and raised in St. Andrew, Jamaica, with both parents each being from large close-knit families headed by pastors. Chris Malachi grew up in an environment where many of his family members were musicians; this is what set the foundation that nurtured a deep love and appreciation for the art form.

His musical journey started at an early age when his parents noticed his ability to remember songs from church as he would often learn and practice them on the keyboard at home. This prompted them to enroll him for piano classes. As time progressed he joined the church choir- his first platform as a vocalist and performer. He would also develop an interest in poetry and songwriting through English Language and Literature classes in high school. These experiences gave him the tools to hone his skills as vocalist, writer, musical arranger and/or co-producer for much of his work.
The journey continued as Chris Malachi joined several musical and performance groups while at the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus), where he had the opportunity to perform various musical styles and genres. He learned more about applying this knowledge and understanding into his music, which has a global appeal while still being uniquely Jamaican- an integral part of his mission to build and expand Jamaican culture.

Chris Malachi recently released his very first single, "All I've Got" produced by JLL, who has worked with artists such as Chronixx, Masego, Kranium, Runkus, Jaz Elise, Jane Macgizmo and more. Together they are working on his first official project, titled “The Messenger” due for release in early 2019.
