Dahlia's Tear

Dahlia's Tear

* En anglais uniquement

Dark ambient project Dahlia's Tear creates deep, droning soundscapes that immerse the listener in imagined fantastical scenarios. Starting as a doom metal side project, it went on to release on some of the most renowned labels of the genre. The sole work of Turkish-Swedish Anil Emre Dedeoğlu (aka Anile D), Dahlia's Tear began in 2005 as a side project of his doom metal band Dimness Through Infinity, of which he was the drummer and keyboardist. His first album had the grandiose title Harmonious Euphonies for Supernatural Traumas Mesmerising Our Existences in Radiant Corpuscle Galaxies. With an almost symphonic feeling, the album was praised by critics for its musicality. In 2007, Anile followed up with the double whammy of My Rotten Spirit of Black and Under Seven Skies; the former went in an industrial direction, while the latter was more melodic. The project then went dark for five years before returning with the highly praised Dreamsphere. Released on genre powerhouse Cold Meat Industry, it combined industrial and symphonic elements with a human, emotional core. Another long period of silence ensued before Dahlia's Tear reappeared in 2018 with Through the Nightfall Grandeur on Cryo Chamber. The album and its 2019 follow-up Across the Shifting Abyss featured some of his lushest, most epic work yet. In 2019 Anile also released completely reworked versions of his first two albums, giving them a much fuller, richer sound. © John D. Buchanan /TiVo
