Farm were a short-lived project whose only recording was the soundtrack to George Greenough's 1969 underground surf film The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun. The album differed from the type of upbeat, twangy music usually associated with the surf genre, instead basking in sprawling, organ-driven jazz/blues-inspired grooves. The project was helmed by surfer Denny Aaberg and included members of the Dragons, one of whom (Daryl Dragon) went on to fame and fortune as one half of '70s soft rock duo Captain & Tennille. Farm bassist Phill Pritchard and guitarist Ernie Knapp went on to work with the Beach Boys in their later years. The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun was initially released as a private-press LP around the time of the film's release, and gradually gained a cult following, leading to reissues by Japanese label EM Records in 2007 and American imprint Sundazed in 2016. ~ Paul Simpson
