Watford-based punk/rock group
Funeral Shakes pair downbeat lyrics with the uplifting energy of punk. The band formed in 2017 as a mini-supergroup, with members coming from numerous existing bands, including Em Foster (guitar) from
Nervus, Lee Barratt (drums) from
Gallows, as well as Simon Baker (guitar) and Calvin Roffey (bass/vocals) both from
the Smoking Hearts. They quickly signed to Silent Cult Records, going on to release their eponymous debut album with the label in 2018. ~ Liam Martin
