After four yearly rendez-vous under the mistletoe, with singles praising the glory of 25th December, Gaspard Royant is proud to present his first full-length Christmas album. "Wishing You a Merry Christmas" will reconcile rockers (and everyone else) with the Christmas holidays in 10 titles: covers of Eels, John Lennon, Darlene Love and George Michael, original titles which are a far cry from traditional Christmas carols, and even a Tex-Mex version of U2's New Year's Day! Forget about supermarket crooners and uninspired compilations. With "Wishing You a Merry Christmas!" Gaspard Royant offers you the ideal record that gives a second wind to the Christmas spirit. In January 2014, the Haute-Savoie native released his first album "10 Hit Wonder," a compilation of five previously-released 45s. His next move was simple: continue at this same Stakhanovist rhythm and offer something new the following winter to his newly-found public (fans?). The idea of making a yearly Christmas song was born! Gaspard has had of course some serious predecessors: Phil Spector, Elvis, Sinatra, the Pogues and just about everyone in show business! Fast-forward 4 years later, and there, under the Christmas tree, is Gaspard’s pride and joy, his “divine child”: a veritable Christmas album. As usual, it brings together several of Gaspard’s previously-released singles and newly-recorded songs for the ideal soundtrack for a cool and sexy year-end holiday.
