Gandhi Djuna, who goes by the name Maître Gims, is a Congolese hip-hop performer who grew up in France where he began his musical career there as a teenager. He became a member of the rap collective Sexion d'Assault in 2003 and released his debut solo album, 'Subliminal', in 2013. It topped the albums chart in Belgium and peaked at number two in France. The track 'J'me Tire' topped the France Digital Song Sales chart and 'Changer' reached number ten. Also in 2013, the single 'Bella' topped the chart, 'Zombie' reached number three and he featured on Vitaa's 'Game Over', which peaked at number two.His 2015 release 'Mon Coeur Avait Raison' topped the albums charts in France and Belgium and went to number eleven on Billboard's World Albums chart. The track 'Cadeaux' topped the France Digital Song Sales chart, 'Est-ce Que Tu M'aimes?' and 'Brisé' reached number three and 'Laissez Passer' peaked at number seven. In 2016, 'Je Te Pardonne' hit number seven and he featured on Niska's 'Elle Avait Son Djo', which topped the chart. In 2017, 'Cameleon' went to number nine on the chart and he featured on Lacrim's 'Ce Soit Ne Sors Pas', which went to number ten.'Ceinture Noire' (2018) topped the album charts in France, Belgium and Switzerland. The track 'La Meme' topped the France Digital Song Sales chart and 'Mi Gna' with Super Soka featuring Hayko went to number three. Also in 2018, he featured with Vitaa, Dadju and Slimane on Naestro's 'Bella Ciao', which topped the chart. His 2019 single, 'Miami Vice' hit number five. His 2019 schedule was to include appearances across France and at venues in Boulder, Colorado; Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
