Girls² (pronounced Girls Girls) emerged from Takeshi Miike's 'Girls P Heroine!' series to release their debut single 'Daijyoubu' in June 2019. The group's origins date back to 2015 when Yuzuha Oda, formerly a part of the Japanese girl group Amorecarina, won a starring role in the children's television show 'Idol P Warrior Miracle Tunes!', that year's instalment of the 'Girls P Heroine!' series. Oda's role extended beyond the show and had her performing songs with other cast members under the Miracle² banner.A follow-up series, 'Magical P Heroine Magimajo Pures!' brought Momoka Sumitani, Misaki Tsuruya, Youka Ogawa and Kurea Masuda to the series and they, in turn, performed as Magical². LDH, one of the companies behind the shows, decided to bring together Miracle², Magical² and the cast of the then newly-announced 2019 series, 'Secret P Heroine Phantomirage!' (who would perform as the group Mirage²). The supergroup Girls² was born. They debuted in Osaka and in April 2019 group members Oda, Sumitani, Tsuruya, Ogawa and Masuda began appearing on the variety show 'Oha Suta', performing together as Oha Girls from Girls². 2019 saw the release of the debut single by Girls², 'Daijyoubu'. The track, which is also the theme song for 'Secret P Heroine Phantomirage!', reached number three in the Oricon Singles Chart. © ©Copyright Music Story 2020
