Born in Brooklyn New York and raised in Orlando Florida independent artist Rapper, Singer, Songwriter, Grace started writing poetry in Middle School and High School where she became a true artist, discovering herself and finding her sound by creating and writing music. The name Essence came from her passion for the craft and being able to be diverse and still deliver bars with substance.Some of her biggest inspirations were Aaliyah, Micheal Jackson, Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, Missy Elliot, Wu-Tang, Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, Lil Kim,MC Lyte, Nas, KRS-ONE the list goes on.
