Grete Pedersen is a choral conductor and professor of choral conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. She studied conducting with
Kenneth Kiesler and choral conducting with
Eric Ericson and
Terje Kvam.
Pedersen founded the Oslo Chamber Choir in 1984, and she led the ensemble until 2004. She has worked with the
Berlin Radio Chorus, the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, the
Swedish Radio Choir, the
Netherlands Chamber Choir, the
Netherlands Radio Choir, Pro Coro Canada, the World Youth Choir, the
Danish National Vocal Ensemble, and the
Bavarian Radio Chorus. She has also conducted choral works with the
Oslo Sinfonietta,
Ensemble Allegria, and the
Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
Pedersen has directed the
Norwegian Soloists Choir since 1990, and they won the Choc de la Musique and the Prix d'Or from Diapason. Together, they have recorded for Simax and BIS.
