Quite possibly the youngest death metal band in history to be given a recording contract, with members averaging between 14 and 16 years of age, Germany's
Hackneyed formed in 2007 and by the following year were already releasing their debut album,
Death Prevails, through Nuclear Blast. Composed of vocalist Philipp Mazal, guitarists Felix Papp and Devin Cox, bassist Alex "iX" Büttner, and drummer Tim Cox (who, despite their English noms de guerre are in fact German),
Hackneyed perform an extreme brand of death metal inspired by bands like
Cannibal Corpse and
