Entirely written, performed and recorded by himself, Ifall is the brainchild of London-based Brazilian composer and producer Caio Duarte, known for his award-winning film soundtracks and a vast discography connected to the rock and metal scenes.
The 2014 self-titled debut, released as a limited handmade print, is an intensely personal album exploring a wide range of musical genres and languages. After years producing music in the darker spectrum of sound, the album highlighted a mellow and organic facet of the artist's work, drawing influences from jazz, world music and Brazilian popular music.
After several film soundtracks, including the award-winning 'Asra', 2019 saw the release of Sinfonia Ritual (feat. Ifall), a cinematic, orchestral re-imagining of extreme metal songs by South American native outfit Miasthenia.
In 2020, during the Covid lockdown, Ifall retreated to an improvised studio in his flat to record the follow-up to the self-titled debut album, Too Long; Didn't Listen, with the singles The Master and Mr Artist. Once again entirely performed and produced by himself, the album takes on a cynical, comedic view of modern society with a heavy-hitting mix of soul, jazz, classical and art rock that still defies labelling.
