J.Drew is a 25-year-old Detroit Born artist who is quickly proving himself to be among the most gifted producer/songwriters of his generation. He's got the type of voice, charm, finesse, and inexpressible humanity that’s often longed for, but rarely attained. If there was ever a question of who the young kid with hauntingly wicked tracks electrifying the scene beamed from – first, there’s the family connection: son of gospel superstar Karen Clark-Sheard of the legendary Clark Sisters. And then, there’s the Pharrell Williams co-sign; J.Drew being the first and youngest producer signed to the StarTrak Label. Now, this is when the hype machine begins to rev up. Newly inking a deal with Detroit indie label LiveTMG, the singer is finally prepared to leave his mark. Please welcome J.Drew with your favorite underground embrace. Considered a prodigy – playing the drums, piano, bass along with other instruments – Sheard began producing music for some of the industry’s most sought-after artists, landing major production deals, receiving several Grammy nominations and winning Dove and Stellar Awards concurrently. His familycurrently stars in the docu-series, ‘The Sheards’ on BET. The show highlights J.Drew’s road to becoming a solo artist and pulling away from the pack to become a man; complex and unabashed. J.Drew has a preferred subject; one that he talks about with effortless and savant-like grandiose. He speaks on the love of women – in all of its forms and guises – through gutsy braggadocio; producing a final masterpiece that becomes common place in J.Drew’s seemingly complex world. J.Drew Sheard is not riding a fresh new wave of music onto the scene. He is, frankly, the next-level of urban artistry: a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer for the twenty-first century.
