Jack Lantier is a French singer who specialized in standards, and while his singing career spans multiple decades, he was most productive during the 1970s on the label Vogue. Born André de Meyer in 1930 in Paris, he began his career in the 1950s. His tenure on the label Vogue extended from the '60s to the '80s and includes numerous full-length albums, the bulk of them released during the '70s when
Lantier was especially productive. Highlights from his deep back catalog were compiled for reissue in later years on a long line of greatest-hits collections. Among the more notable are Les Plus Belle Chansons Françaises, Vols. 1-2 (1993), Chansons pour Noël (1993), and the ten-disc Chansons de Toujours (2008). ~ Jason Birchmeier
