Jana McCall was a member of the Seattle band Dickless in the late 1980s. While that band was one of the many whose sound predated the Grunge phenomenon, McCall's solo work shows a simpler, quieter creativity at work. Her haunting Dream Pop maintains a slow, heavy pace marked by ragged, introspective guitars and detached, resonating vocals. Waves of reverb leave you isolated on the side of a road marked only by the occasional flourish of a slide guitar. Her gloriously lethargic songs won't let up until everyone has either passed out or run off into the desert.
