Jesse Karoki, well known by his fans as Jaydonthedayone, is a 23 year old rapper/producer from Nairobi, Kenya. He was raised by a single mother after his father died shortly after his birth, being born and bred in the big city, his music’s influence and exposure was vast due to his family's love for country and funk music from the late 1990s and early hiphop heads that rocked the music industry in mid 21st century. From T-Pain’s melodic hooks to Lil Wayne’s brilliant bars, a great music interest was born. All through his education, he learnt piano and studied music. His music interest grew and he eventually founded a highschool music group called Versal. In the process, he nurtured his rap skills, going head to head with various rap groups in school and Immediately after completing his highschool, he got himself a cracked version of fruity loops studio (fl studio), where he learnt his production skills: producing, mixing and mastering. This all can be heard fluently in his music.
His early releases Look, King of the Jungle and his latest joint EP, with fellow labelmate and rapper, 7th Sön titled ‘Already here’, shows his broad musical abilities, ranging from songwriting to singing to his ability to jump in and out of different genres. He is passionately equipped to be the next big music guru of the future, and
with his debut album set to drop later this year, you can expect a lot more jams that will set him uniquely different from other upcoming artists.
